Soothing mild Single Malt with maturity in the rum barrel
Each bottle of this unusual whisky is unique and is therefore ideal for adventurous aficionados. After ageing for roughly half a decade in casks of American white oak, the malt whisky is refilled into casks that were previously used to age rum from the island of Jamaica, which is renowned for its sugar cane. Jamaica rum generally has a full-bodied and aromatic flavour.
Before it is bottled, it ages for several months in a wooden cask, which is used later on for refilling SLYRS malt whisky. SLYRS also uses casks that previously contained rhum agricole (made from sugar cane – not from molasses as is usually the case!) from the Caribbean island of Martinique for its whisky finish. Over a sufficiently long ageing period, the whisky also takes on the typical rum flavours to become a true masterpiece of the Bavarian whisky specialists.
