The Meininger's International Spirits Award (ISW) is one of the most important spirits competitions in the world and probably the most important in the German-speaking world. Every year, several jury groups, each consisting of five to six experts, taste the spirits submitted blind and anonymously in thematically related flights. Each spirit is evaluated individually and independently, with the average of the evaluations giving the final score. This strict and fair evaluation method ensures that only the best spirits are awarded.
