Character single malt whisky from the island of Sylt
After the success of the pioneering SILD Crannog project, the world’s only single malt whisky stored on the sea in a ship called “The Angels’ Share”, the distillers at the Sylt Distillery faced new challenges. A single malt whisky that is stored in a bunker on the island of Sylt and that gets to feel the rough island climate.
The heart project of the Kampen farmer Jörg Runkel finds its origin on the Geest between Kampen and Wenningstedt. There, behind the dunes, with the salty sea air, a very special grain ripens, which is harvested in midsummer and processed for our whisky. The single malt already develops its typical aroma here, which is worked out through careful mashing and long distillation in the SLYRS distillery. A milestone for SILD whisky connoisseurs.
