Because in the year 779 five monks from Ireland and Scotland founded a monastery in the Bavarian wasteland of Schliersee. Adalung, Hiltupalt, Kerpalt, Antonius and Otakir name this monastery SLYRS, correctly pronounced SCHLIERS.
