High up on the Stümpfling, the ,,BERGLUFT einfach lässig FESTIVAL'' will take place for the first time on September 13, 2025. At an altitude of 1.530 meters, there will be a concert between mountain peaks with Loisach Marci and the dialect band Loamsiada, while real Upper Bavarian Whisky tasted and celebrated.
A new, relaxed open-air experience with a breathtaking panorama: The “BERGLUFT simply casual FESTIVAL” will celebrate its premiere on September 13, 2025 (alternative date September 14.09) – in the middle of the Bavarian Alps, between Tegernsee and Schliersee, at an altitude of 1.530 meters on the Stümpfling.
Up here, Bavarian lifestyle, music and Whiskyenjoyment. Directly at the Jagahütt'n, known for its hearty mountain delicacies, lies the SLYRS Höhenlager, where since 2014 the legendary Mountain Edition of the Upper Bavarian Whiskys matures. Barrels are transported up the Stümpflingbahn 4-seater chairlift – just like the festival guests who arrive either from the Schliersee side or with the Suttenbahn from Tegernsee.
Loisach Marci and Loamsiada provide the perfect musical opening. Marcel Engler aka Loisach Marci combines traditional sounds with modern beats, brings together alphorn and electronic sounds and plays 14 instruments himself - true to the motto: "Celebrate tradition, but don't mess it up." The Augsburg band Loamsiada creates a lively atmosphere with their fresh brass sound and Bavarian dialect - and that's with just one year of band history and over 50 celebrated concerts.
A festival with character – in the middle of the mountains
When Peter Rie, event manager of Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT), was looking for the perfect location for the festival, the Jagahütt'n was the obvious choice. With space for over 300 festival guests, easy access by cable car and an unbeatable atmosphere at 1.530 metres, it was perfect for this event. Together with tenant Marcus Votteler and the SLYRS Whisky distillery, the idea was developed further – and the festival was born.
“A picture-book panorama, handmade Bavarian music and a sip of Mountain Whisky – that’s exactly what makes this open-air event so special!” says Peter Rie.
A stage is being set up outside, the Jagahütt'n serves Bavarian delicacies à la carte, and at the SLYRS WhiskyBar offers fine wines – from classic Whisky to fine liqueurs. For real Whiskyfans will receive an exclusive highlight: a private lounge with tasting of the Mountain Edition directly from the barrel as well as a guided tour of the high-altitude warehouse of SLYRS.
“We were lucky that Marcus Votteler from the Jagahütt'n and Hans Kemenater from SLYRS were just as enthusiastic about the idea as we were - this was the only way the festival could become a reality," says Rie. Special thanks also go to the Tegernsee power plant and the mountain railways, who are supporting the project.
When the sun sinks behind the peaks and the fox and the hare say goodnight to each other at Stümpfling, the festival ends - nature gets its well-deserved rest.
